Alexander Isak has become one of the most exciting strikers in European football.

Since his move to Newcastle United, his pace, control, and eye for goal have made him a standout in the Premier League.

But right now, he’s not with the squad on their pre-season tour of Asia.

Officially, it’s a minor muscle injury.

Unofficially, there’s more going on.

Liverpool have long admired him.

Even with Hugo Ekitiké joining from Frankfurt for £79m, and Florian Wirtz coming in for £116m, the Reds are still watching Isak’s next move closely.

But they’re not the only ones.

There’s another club making noise, and it’s not from Europe.

Isak has been left unsettled by growing transfer talk.

He didn’t feature in Newcastle’s friendly at Celtic last Saturday.

The Magpies don’t want to lose him — especially to this particular club.

But when a player is weighing up his future and sits out pre-season, there’s usually more going on behind the scenes.

Now we know what’s happening.

According to The Guardian, Al-Hilal, the Saudi Arabian giants backed by the country’s Public Investment Fund, have made a jaw-dropping offer: £600,000-a-week, tax free.

The report said, “Alexander Isak has been offered a staggering £600,000-a-week tax-free deal by Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia with further lucrative bonuses on top.”

“The Newcastle striker is open to leaving St James’ Park and Liverpool, who are long-term admirers, are keeping an eye on the situation.”

That’s just the base salary.

The club is also ready to offer bonuses for winning the league, topping the scoring charts, and lifting the Asian Champions League.

Al-Hilal are managed by Simone Inzaghi and are aiming to make a statement in the transfer market.

After reaching the Club World Cup quarter-finals and losing to Fluminense, they want to come back stronger — with Isak leading the line.

The striker is open to leaving St James’ Park.

He is currently assessing his options, and this offer clearly has his attention.

Liverpool cannot compete financially.

Matching those personal terms is out of the question.

It’s also unclear whether the club can meet Newcastle’s valuation, which stands around £120m.

Newcastle fans would take “the dimmest of views” if their Saudi owners let him go to another PIF-owned club.

Isak is under contract until 2028.

But with Ekitiké already signed and questions swirling around Darwin Núñez and Luis Díaz, Liverpool will keep watching.
